Scope and Focus

As the name suggests, this journal focuses on publishing articles discussing topics around linguistics, literature, and language education. Since 2018, this journal has published many articles with topics narrowed to English linguistics, English literature, and English language education. However, starting from 2024, we will consider other languages as well, as long as they are written in English. Additionally, the topic should be limited to the following foci:

  • Theoretical linguistics
  • Applied linguistics
  • Systemic functional linguistics
  • Literature analysis
  • Second language acquisition
  • Foreign language teaching and learning
  • Language testing
  • Computer-assisted language learning
  • Artificial intelligence and language pedagogy
  • Language and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
  • Language learning models and strategies
  • Language teacher development
  • Language curriculum and material development
  • Language and neuropsychology
  • Language therapy

Manuscripts that do not adhere to one of the foci will not be considered for review.

Review Process

Every submission will go through an initial screening by the chief editor to ensure that the manuscript has fulfilled the following minimum requirements:

  • The manuscript has fewer than 20% similarity with any other papers.
  • The manuscript has fewer than 30% AI-generated content.
  • The topic falls within the scope and focus of the journal.
  • The manuscript contributes to the body of knowledge.
  • The manuscript has properly cited reputable sources in the APA style.
  • The manuscript has been well-written in English in the proper length.

When a manuscript fulfills the minimum requirements, the corresponding author will be notified to proceed with the article processing charge after the manuscript is reviewed and accepted. Assigned editorial reviewers evaluate:

Method Validity
Trustworthiness
Analysis Logic/Depth
Proper Referencing

Authors are required to make major and/or minor revisions based on recommendations. This review does not aim to find reasons for rejecting a manuscript but to encourage the authors to refine and revise their manuscripts for quality.

Initial screening takes 2 weeks to 1 month, while the full review process may take approximately 3-6 months. Authors can recommend expert reviewers from different affiliations during submission.
